Artificial legs elephant

Artificial legs activity can help those who have a deficiency in the foot. During this false feet used only by men. But, what if the foot is subject to a fake elephant.

This is the experienced Mosha, a bishop three years living in Lampang, Thailand. Mosha had lost the right front leg since the age of seven months due to a drop in the mine.

Luckily, when the fatal accident Mosha can be saved. He was the hospital Friends of the Asian Elephant (FAE) in Lampang in 2007. FAE is the only elephant hospital in the world.

Fact, with only have three legs, Mosha minder seems to interact with other elephants in the hospital is. Saking minder and stresnya, Mosha reject the food.

Team doctors who handle Mosha is concerned with the condition. Mosha times until a meeting with Dr Therdchai Jivacate, who run the foundation abscission man, Prostheses Foundation. Dr Jivacate very Mosha not know because he akan selamat akan large increases according to age. "If you can not walk, he will die," said Jivacate.

During this foundation owned Jivacate create a artificial leg for more than 16,000 people. However, they did not make up for the elephants Mosha attract Jivacate. After a special research, the team doctor in the Prostheses Foundation works to create a false leg for Mosha. Artificial legs is made from a mixture of plastic materials, sawdust, and iron, which is able to allow a weight Mosha. Artificial legs for the first time in the world be a bishop.

Many elephants are treated in the hospital is. Have the infection, fracture, or knee injury. But in between the elephants of the hospital, and finally the Moshalah popular, especially with the foot palsunya.

10 Most Poisonous Creatures in the World

1. Box Jellyfish

The top prize for The World Most Venomous Animal,would go to the Box Jellyfish. It has caused at least 5,567 recorded deaths since 1954. Their venom is among the most deadly in the world. Its toxins attack the heart, nervous system, and skin cells. And the worst part of it is that jelly box venom is so overpoweringly painful, that human victims go in shock, drown or die of heart failure before even reaching shore. Survivors experience pain weeks after the contact with box jellies.

You have virtually no chance to survive the venomous sting, unless treated immediately. After a sting, vinegar should be applied for a minimum of 30 seconds. Vinegar has acetic acid, which disables the box jellys nematocysts that have not yet discharged into the bloodstream (though it will not alleviate the pain). Wearing panty hose while swimming is also a good prevention measure since it can prevent jellies from being able to harm your legs.

Jelly box can be found in the waters around Asia and Australia.

2. King Cobra

The King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is the worlds longest venomous snake - growing up to 5.6 m (18.5 ft) in length. Ophiophagus, literally means snake-eater as it eats other snakes. One single bite of this deadly snake can easily kill a human. This snake is even capable of killing a full-grown Asian Elephant within 3 hours if the larger animal is bitten in a vulnerable area such as the trunk.

Its venom is not as toxic as other venomous snakes, but King Cobra is capable of injecting 5 times more venom than black mamba and can result in mortality up to 5 times faster than that of the black mamba. It is quite widespread, ranging across South and South-east Asia, living in dense highland forests.

3. Marbled Cone Snail

This little beautiful looking Marbled Cone snail can be as deadly as any other animal on this list. One drop of its venom is so powerful that it can kill more than 20 humans. If you ever happen to be in warm salt water environment (where these snails are often found) and see it, dont even think of picking it up. Of course, the true purpose of its venom is to catch its prey.

Symptoms of a cone snail sting can start immediately or can be delayed in onset for days. It results in intense pain, swelling, numbness and tingling. Severe cases involve muscle paralysis, vision changes and breathing failure. There is no antivenom. However, only about 30 human deaths have been recorded from cone snail envenomation.

4. Blue-Ringed Octopus

The Blue-Ringed Octopus is very small, only the size of a golf ball, but its venom is so powerful that can kill a human. Actually it carries enough poison to kill 26 adult humans within minutes, and there is no antidote. They are currently recognized as one of the worlds most venomous animals.

Its painless bite may seem harmless, but the deadly neurotoxins begin working immediately resulting in muscular weakness, numbness, followed by a cessation and breathing and ultimately death.

They can be found in tide pools in the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Australia.

5. Death Stalker Scorpion

Contrarily to the popular belief most of the scorpions are relatively harmless to humans as stings produce only local effects (pain, numbness or swelling). However, the Death Starker Scorpion is highly dangerous species because its venom is a powerful cocktail of neurotoxins which causes an intense and unbearable pain, then fever, followed by coma, convulsions, paralysis and death. Fortunately, while a sting from this scorpion is extremely painful, it would be unlikely to kill a healthy, adult human. Young children, the old, or infirm (with a heart condition) are at the biggest risk.
Death stalker scorpions are spread in North Africa and Middle East.

6. Stonefish

Maybe Stonefish would never win a beauty contest, but it would definitely win the top prize for being The World Most Venomous Fish. Its venom causes such a severe pain that the victims of its sting want the affected limb to be amputated. It is described as the worst pain known to man. It is accompanied with possible shock, paralysis, and tissue death. If not given medical attention within a couple of hours It can be fatal to humans..

Stonefish stores its toxins in gruesome-looking spines that are designed to hurt would-be predators.

Stonefish mostly live above the tropic of Capricorn, often found in the shallow tropical marine waters of the Pacific and Indian oceans, ranging from the Red Sea to the Queensland Great Barrier Reef.

7. The Brazilian wandering spider

The Brazilian Wandering Spider (Phoneutria) or banana spider appears in the Guinness Book of World Records 2007 for the most venomous spider and is the spider responsible for most human deaths.

This spider is believed to have the most potent neurotoxic venom of any living spider. Only 0.006mg (0.00000021oz) is sufficient to kill a mouse. They are also so dangerous because of their wandering nature. They often hide during daytime in highly populated areas inside houses, clothes, boots, and cars.

Its venomous bite causes not only intense pain, the venom of the spider can also cause priapism - uncomfortable erections lasting for many hours that lead to impotence.

8. Inland Taipan

The prize for The Worlds Most Venomous Snake goes to the Inland Taipan of Australia. Just a single bite from this snake contains enough venom to kill 100 human adults or an army of 250,000 mice. Its venom is at least 200 - 400 times more toxic than a common cobra. The Inland Taiwans extremely neurotoxic venom can kill an adult human in as little as 45 minutes. Fortunately this snake is very shy and there have been no documented human fatalities (all known bites were treated with antivenin).

9. Poison Dart Frog

If you ever happen to be running through the rain forests somewhere in Central or South America, do not ever pick up beautiful and colorful frogs - it can be the Poison Dart Frog. This frog is probably the most poisonous animal on earth.The 2 inch long (5cm) golden poison dart frog has enough venom to kill 10 adult humans or 20,000 mice. Only 2 micrograms of this lethal toxin (the amount that fits on the head of a pin) is capable of killing a human or other large mammal. They are called dart frogs because indigenous Amerindians use of their toxic secretions to poison the tips of their blow-darts.. Poison dart frogs keep their poison in their skins and will sicken or kill anybody who touches or eats it.

10. Puffer Fish

Puffer Fish are the second most poisonous vertebrate on earth (the first one is golden dart Frog). The meat of some species is a delicacy in both Japan (as fugu) and Korea (as bok-uh) but the problem is that the skin and certain organs of many puffer fish are very poisonous to humans.

This puffy fish produce rapid and violent death..Puffers poisoning causes deadening of the tongue and lips, dizziness, vomiting, rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, and muscle paralysis. Victims die from suffocation as diaphragm muscles are paralyzed. Most of the victims die after four to 24 hours. There is no known antidote, Most deaths from fugu happen when untrained people catch and prepare the fish.

Statistics show that there were 20 to 44 incidents of fugu poisoning per year between 1996 and 2006 in all of Japan and up to six incidents per year led to death. Since Fugus poison can cause near instantaneous death, only licensed chefs are allowed to prepare it.

Longest ambulance in the world

Longest ambulance in the world

Dubai already has the tallest office building, the tallest residential building and the biggest aquarium in the world and as of this week it can add the longest ambulance to its list of records.

The world’s longest ambulance is 18 meters (59 feet) and can hold up to 44 patients at the same time, according to Khalifa bin Darri, head of the Dubai Ambulance Center (DAC).

" The ambulance will be a mobile hospital that immediately goes to the accident scene and rescues a large number of the injured who will get treatment inside till they are transferred to the hospital "Khalifa bin Darri, Dubai Ambulance Center

The blue-and white stretch-ambulance features a helicopter landing pad on its roof as well as internet and satellite facilities for the doctors. With state-of-the-art operating rooms, an intensive care unit, a radiography room and an integrated pharmacy, the ambulance is more like a mobile hospital.

"The ambulance will be a mobile hospital that immediately goes to the accident scene and rescues a large number of the injured who will get treatment inside till they are transferred to the hospital," said Darri.

The Emirati-designed ambulance is bigger than a bus and is expected to begin operations in three months, he added.

When asked about the reason for launching the world's longest ambulance, Darri said that the U.A.E. has recently witnessed a series of serious accidents, the most memorable of which was last year’s crash on Abu Dhabi road involving more than 200 cars.

"It was necessary to have an ambulance that can take as many patients as possible and offer them immediate treatment. Thus, an Emirati team designed the ambulance and sent the design to a German company to manufacture it," he explained.

"This is a huge leap in the world of ambulance services. It is not just a traditional ambulance that transfers patients to the hospital, but it offers full medical services at the scene. The patient might not even need to go to the hospital at all," said Darri, adding that it was also more time- and cost-effective than sending several small ambulances.

15 Creative Umbrellas

* Water Gun Umbrella
15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

The Umbrella Water Gun, from Alexy Woolley Design, collects water in the concave top, which travels down into the water gun handle -- so you never run out of ammo as long as it's raining! Really cool!

*Light Saber Umbrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

Take the trendy and illuminating properties of a LED flashlight, mix in a light emitting multi-coloured handle, throw in the terribly useful water repelling function of an umbrella and you've got a hip and wacky way to brighten up a dismal day in the city. The Light Saber Umbrella is $41.

* Senz Umbrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

Also known as "The Storm," the Senz Umbrella has an aerodynamic design and the manufacturer claims it can withstand storms up to wind force 10.

* Cloud Umbrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

This inflatable cloud-shaped Umbrella is an unique model. In order to unfold it, you just need to push and pull the air drum built in the handle. It might that you are the only one with white clouds floating over the head.

* Couple Umbrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

This $19,99 double umbrella could double the rain coverage for lovers. Plus, when closed, it seems like a typical umbrella.

* Nubrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

Nubrella is no ordinary umbrella: it can be easily strap on your shoulder so that you do not need to hold it with your hand. It stops rain, wind, snow and extreme cold-- and keeps your head, face and shoulders drier than ever.

* Polite Umbrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

Designed to avoid hitting others, the Polite Umbrella is a shrinkable umbrella that enables users to morph its shape in order to reduce occupied space and to increase user maneuverability. Users can easily adjust their umbrellas anytime by pulling a handle so that they can protect themselves from harsh winds or bumping into others.

* UNbrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

Conventional umbrellas come with a fixed surface. Although it is changeable, you cannot replace it easily. This eco-friendly design is more flexible. It is actually only a collapsible umbrella skeleton without any surface, so you can put anything such as newspapers, plastic bags or whatever you want to serve as the protecting surface.

* Brelli Umbrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

Brelli is the world's first 100% biodegradable umbrella, made with a unique biodegradable plastic canopy and bamboo. And it looks cool too.

* Bumpbrella

15 Creative Umbrellas @ strange pictures

The Bumpbrella is convenient in the sense that it can be inflated easily with the help of a hand pump and deflated at the pull of a handle, so it doesn't take up too much precious space. Even if you can't help bumping into people, you can spare them the poke in the eye. This continues to be true even in the dark, thanks to the three bright LEDs which allows you to see and be seen clearly.

* Huge Japanese Umbrella

This gigantic umbrella was seen in Tokyo, Japan, sadly there isn't more info, but it looks bizarre enough to make it here.

* Flask Umbrella

This Brigg umbrella features a Malacca cane two-piece handle with a fitted screw-in drinking flask. That's all well and good, but this thing costs around $880! Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have $880 to spend on a umbrella, you also have enough money to pay for your drinks.

* Umbuster Umbrella

The Umbuster is an Umbrella with an ergonomically positioned knuckle duster handle configuration. Looks pretty comfy.

* Ufo Umbrella

Sure, you could wear a raincoat if you don't feel like carrying an umbrella, but does it really keep you dry? I didn't think so. This combination of Umbrella+Cap does that. Sadly, the Ufo Cao is Korea-only for now, but I'm pretty sure they'll be glad to ship one to you.

The 256 Year-Old Man

In the province of Szechwan in China lived until last week Li Ching-yun. In China where Age means something he was a great man. By his own story he was born in 1736, had lived 197 years.

By the time he was ten years old he had traveled in Kansu, Shansi, Tibet, Annam, Siam and Manchuria gathering herbs. He continued to gather herbs for the rest of his first 100 years. He lived on herbs and plenty of rice wine.

When asked for his secret of long life. Li Ching-yun gave it readily: "Keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon and sleep like a dog." The "Scholar War Lord" Wu Pei-fu. not satisfied with this formula, took Li into his home and was lectured on "how to get the most out of each century" by maintaining "inward calm."

Some said he had buried 23 wives, was living with his 24th. a woman of 60, had descendants of eleven generations. The fingernails of his venerable right hand were six inches long. Yet to skeptical Western eyes he looked much like any Chinese 60-year-old. In 1930 Professor Wu Chung-chieh, dean of the department of education at Chengtu University, found records that the Imperial Chinese Government had congratulated one Li Ching-yun in 1827 on his birthday.

The birthday was his 150th, making the man who died last week—if it was the same Li Ching-yun, and respectful Chinese preferred to think so—a 256-year-old

Hospital Themed Restaurant

Hospital Themed Restaurant

A unique, weird restaurant has opened in Riga, Latvia named Hospitalis.It is a must-see place if you like gore things. The restaurant looks like a medicine cabinet, while you are treated as a patient and taken good care by the long-legged waitresses in nurses uniforms.

The food is served in flasks and operating-room s dishes and isnt that cheap (7 and more lats per meal), but this is a bizarre experience that is worth breaking the bank. Besides, the place is owned by local doctors, but unfortunately, the president of Latvia, who is also a doctor, declined his appearance at the opening once he realized how weird this place actually is.

The biggest man in the world from Ukraine 2.57m

The previous holder of the title "The tallest living man", a Chinese citizen of Mongolian ethnic root, Bao Xishun, with his 2.36m (7ft 9in) height, is a dwarf compared to the new record holder.

The Ukrainian man Leonid Stadnyk, 37, has been recognized as the world's tallest living person by the Guinness Book of Records. Stadnyk was measured to have 2.57m (8ft 5in) in height. The difference in height between him and the Chinese is quite notable: 22cm (8in)!

Stadnyk is a former veterinarian from Podolyantsi (central Ukraine). He started to grow rapidly at the age of 14, when a brain operation reportedly turned on his pituitary gland. Bao had just overtaken in 2006 a Tunisian man, Radhouane Charbib, but with just 2mm difference. The Ukrainian has claimed the title for the world's tallest man before, but his record was not checked as he rejected several times to be measured by the Guinness Book of Records.

His parents are quite short: his father is 1.73m (5ft 8in) tall and his mother 1.52m (5ft). He grew in a tiny village 209km (130 miles) west of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and as a child, Stadnyk was rather short.

His teenage brain operation was meant to relieve hydrocephalus, an overaccumulation of liquid in the brain, and following that, he experienced the growth spurt. When he took his vet license and started working at a clinic an hour away, Stadnyk was already 2.03m (6ft 8in) tall.

His bike remained too small for him and he had to start taking the bus. After a while, he was too tall for the bus, and he had to go to work using the family's horse-drawn cart. Stadnyk had to give up his job six years ago, after his feet were frostbitten due to the fact that he did not have proper shoes for his size 64 feet.

Now his occupation is farming (livestock and vegetables) on the family farm in Podolyantsi. Still, Stadnyk is 15cm (6in) shorter than the tallest man ever: Robert Wadlow from Illinois (US), which was 2.72m (8ft 11in) tall when he died, in 1940.

Incredibly slimming down

A guy weighed 630 lbs and that’s what he has become. He lost a whopping 29 stone and had more than 30lbs of excess skin removed. To do it he had to do a lot of exercises. For this you should have a strong will.

His fitness instructor Chris Powell says “At the start of the training program, David was so fat that he had to be weighed at a local garage on scales normally used for cars and trucks.”

Giant rat caught in China

The rat, which weighed six pounds and had a 12-inch tail, was caught at the weekend in a residential area of Fuzhou, a city of six million people on China's south coast.

The ratcatcher, who was only named as Mr Xian, said he swooped for the rodent after seeing a big crowd of people surrounding it on the street.

He told local Chinese newspapers that he thought the rat might be a valuable specimen, or a rare species, and had to muster up his courage before grabbing its tail and picking it up by the scruff of its neck.

"I did it, I caught a rat the size of a cat!" he shouted out afterwards, according to the reports. Mr Xian is believed to still be in possession of the animal, after stuffing into a bag and departing the scene.

The local forestry unit in the city identified the nightmarish creature as a bamboo rat from initial photographs, but said that it would need to examine the rat more closely before making a final identification.

Chinese bamboo rats rarely grow beyond ten inches and are found throughout southern China, northern Burma and Vietnam.

However, the Sumatra bamboo rat, usually found in the south-western Chinese province of Yunnan and in the Malay Peninsula can grow up to 30 inches long, including tail, and can weigh up to eight pounds.

A "Giant Rat of Sumatra" is mentioned in the Sherlock Holmes tale: The Adventure of a Sussex Vampire.

All bamboo rats are slow-moving and usually spend their time in underground burrows, feeding on bamboo. Chinese bamboo rats are often sold for meat in Chinese markets. The largest rats in the world are thought to be African giant pouched rats, which can grow up to 36 inches in length.*/www.telegraph.co.uk

Nail watch

In the year 2154, no one will want to wear wristwatches anymore. They'll probably be out of fashion or too bulky for our hands. The in thing will be the nail watch, known as the TX54. Well, that's what Timex and design site Core77 think will be the future, according to the global design competition Timex 2154: The Future of Time." The two held the contest to mark the watch maker's 150th anniversary.

TX54, the runner-up in the event, is a concept watch by three Americans designers: Napoleon Merana, Steffen Schubert, and David Takacs. The nail watch is designed to be hooked to the thumbnail. The user should be able to view the time in the dark just by pressing the tip of the nail. Wearers can also switch between available colors. It is also disposable. One hopes it's waterproof as well, just in case you forget to take it off while you're in the shower.

Although the TX54 is a good concept, I can't imagine how small the numbers are going to be, probably putting a strain on your eyes.

THE MOMENT THE TALLEST MEN MET THE SHORTEST

THE MOMENT THE TALLEST MEN MET THE SHORTEST

In terms of height they are worlds apart.

The world's tallest man, Bao Xishun today shook hands with He Pingping who claims to be Earth's shortest.

But these two men actually hail from the same region of Inner Mongolia.

Mr Xishun shakes hands with Mr Ping Ping

While Mr Xishun, 56, towers above everyone at an astonishing 7.9ft, 19-year-old Mr Pingping is a mere 2.4ft high.

Bao Xishun, a herdsman from Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, was recently married in a traditional ceremony to a 28-year-old saleswoman from his hometown. At 5ft 6" Xia Shujian only comes up to his elbow and is half his age.

He claims he was of normal height until he was 16 when he experienced a growth spurt and reached his present height seven years later.

Mr Xishun was confirmed as the tallest person by the Guinness Book of Records last year.

Mr Pingping was born nearby in Wulanchabu city, Inner Mongolia. His father claims he was only the size of an adult's palm at birth.

He is now seeking to be registered as the world's shortest man by the Guinness Book of Recrods. He could be in for a disappointment though. While Mr Pingping is 73cms tall, the current holder of the title Lin Yih-Chih was measured as 67.5cm.
